Delightfully Deceitful Episode 3 brings Ro-um to seek the help of Moo-young. Directed by Lee Soo-hyun, the show is also known as Beneficial Fraud (이로운 사기) and is produced by Studio Dragon and Next Scene. The show is broadcasted on tvN, every Monday and Tuesday.
The cast of the K-Drama includes Chun Woo-hee, Kim Dong-wook, Yoon Park, Park So-jin, Lee Yeon, Choi Young-joon, Yoon Byung-hee, Jang Young-nam, Yoo Hee-je and several others.
Delightfully Deceitful Episode 3 Recap
The episode starts with Moo-young discussing with his psychologist that the kid Ro-um that he remembers, compared to the present-day adult Ro-um are very different people. She has been through many things in her lifetime and he shouldn’t mix the two together. Meanwhile, she is doing her community service work, where the probation officer is also present.
Ro-um catches another man taking a video of him and she confronts him by taking his phone & pushing him down. There were many videos on the phone that were secretly filmed by the man, mainly of women. The probation officer had to go somewhere, so he called the police and her lawyer to take care of the things before they escalate. At the police station, the man complains about getting injured but Ro-um insists on talking about phone stealing, which the man doesn’t even want to mention.
Due to continuous argument and confusion, the police let them go but Ro-um doesn’t give the phone back. When Moo-young asks her why is she trying to extort money over the phone, she hands it to him and tells him to see the content inside. He wants to report it to the police and help the people who were secretly filmed but he also has to save Ro-um. So he calls him over and gets his voice recording that he fell on his own & the phone was simply found by Ro-um & not stolen.

Ro-um had originally planned to blackmail the man by putting malware in his phone & accessing all the data that he had on his computer. Seeing how the man could potentially harm many others, he gets the contact of the hacker that works with Ro-um and pays her to delete everything that the man had in his possession. On the other hand, the case of the death of the adopted son was nowhere to be solved, since the mother didn’t want to settle with money but to see the real culprits getting punished.
Moo-young has put his colleague on the case but even he was determined on closing the case by settling with the money. Thus, he decides to help the mother himself, despite his flailing condition. When he was reviewing the case, Ro-um rings up at his house and asks to stay, since her apartment building was flooded. She vaguely takes a look at the case files and blames the mother for putting his son up for adoption, in the first place. However, seeing how Moo-young wanted to help her in any way, she decides to help as well.
Disguising herself as a child specialist, she visits the school where the adopted parent’s son goes to. She specifically picks their child as a gifted one & offers help to make him the best. The gullible parents believe in her lies and seem ready to indulge her in any secret. The episode also shows how Moo young’s family life was not all that great as well. He was the one to get her mother to run away from home, as she was suffering from pain, whether it was a case of domestic abuse or something else that was not shown.
Delightfully Deceitful Episode 3 Review
The probation officer looks like he might be connected to Ro-um in a way, due to his excessive attention and affiliating to a rich family that could be linked to the foundation. Now that he knows that Ro-um had put in a tracker in his phone, he will be onto her even more.
Also, with the client and the lawyer living together, suspicions might rise between the two. Will Moo-young take her help to solve the adoption case or will show her that things can be done right with the help of law, this is what we will discover in the next episode. On a side note, Ro-um eating the apple while sitting on the chair reminded of L from Death Note anime.
