Do Hae-jun and Yoon-young find their back to 2021 safely and if their future changes, is what we will discuss in My Perfect Stranger ending explained. The drama is also known as Run Into You and it broadcasted on KBS on Monday and Tuesday, from May 1, 2023, to June 20, 2023.

Who Was the Killer?
The culprit was revealed to be Yoon Yeon-woo, Chairman Yoon’s son and Hae-jun’s father. His girlfriend, Chung-ah comes looking for Hae-jun after seeing his interview for the news channel, where he lies that he saw the face of the culprit. She comes to tell him that the culprit is actually Yeon-woo, who used the same red yarn to tie the victims that she had bought to make socks for her child. Another piece of evidence that proved him guilty was the handwriting which was known to her only. Yeon-woo used to write letters with his other hand to Chung-ah only and when she saw the note in the matchbox of her teahouse, she instantly knew.
How Was Yeon-woo Caught?
After Chung-ah went back, Hae-jun found his time-travel car missing, and just then Yeon-woo is seen walking towards his house, to presumably kill him. But they had already expected the culprit to turn up & Dong-sik was keeping an eye to catch the person. However, he accidentally drops something whose noise alerts Yeon-woo & he runs away. Hae-jun runs after him and goes to the underpass tunnel to stop him. Yeon-woo was driving his car & hits Hae-jun with it. He constantly beats him up & just when he was about to hit with a brick, Yoon-young and Dong-sik find them & he shoots Yeon-woo’s arm.
What Was the Meaning Behind the Note?
Yeon-woo would leave a note in the matchbox, near all his victim’s bodies, which read – women who read are dangerous. The reason behind it was connected to his own mother, who was too invested in reading books than tending to her child aka Yeon-woo. He probably was neglected and then one day his mother ran away with another man, while also carrying a book. That became a traumatic memory for him with a feeling of abandonment & triggered him to do the unthinkable in rage when his efforts to reconnect as an adult doesn’t go well.
How Do Hae-jun and Yoon-young Go Back?
After catching the killer and bidding farewell to everyone, they decide to go back to 2021 but they fail to time travel. Unable to understand what could have gone wrong, Hae-jun tries to fix the car somehow. Strangely one day, a young man comes looking for him & acts warmly as if he has known him for years. It turns out to be Hae-jun and Yoon-young’s son from the future and also the one who created the time machine. He reveals that Hae-jun doesn’t really die in 2022 & his son wanted to give him one chance to change the past, thus he leaves the car for him to discover.
Since he is the inventor, he helps Hae-jun in fixing the car and thus, they are able to go back to 2021. The reality also changes for them as Soon-ae was still alive & had become an established writer. Hee-sub was healthy as well and ran a retro pub along with pursuing his passion for music. Yoon-young was still an editor but for her mother & was seen writing a book herself, on her time travel experience, with the same name as the show. On the other hand, Hae-jun seem to have a loving relationship with his grandfather and was still a news anchor.
What Happens in the End? Why Do They Go Back?
After almost a year after coming back from 1987, Yoon-young and Hae-jun get the same thought – what if they go back again and do things perfectly? They are probably hoping to save all the victims since they already know who the real culprit is and can take better precautions this time. Therefore, they travel back to 1987 in the end.
