Who Was Jeok-mok Foundation President?

The anonymous president was revealed to be Jay, as his name was written in An Chae-hong’s diary and when Da-jung investigated further into the shareholders of the foundation, a person named Ji Seung-don came up. He was mentioned everywhere but on looking further, he turned out to be an ordinary old man, who was admitted to a hospital. But his guardian/caretaker turned out to be Jay. He has been using the man’s name to carry out all operations, without ever revealing his own identity.

How Do They Catch Jay in Delightfully Deceitful Episode 16?

In Delightfully Deceitful Episode 16, Ro-um gets arrested for killing Jang Kyung-ja, she was seen carrying a gun on the CCTV. But she was actually killed by Jay by giving poisonous drugs. Knowing that Jay will try to kill the other Jeok-mok kids, Ro-um names Da-jung and Su-ho as her accomplices and they are called in for questioning. By getting them in the same building, they conspire in helping Ro-um escape the prosecutor’s office, so she can seek revenge on Jay. And other’s will also be safe, since the investigating team will then keep Da-jung and Su-ho in custody until Ro-um is found.

They easily confess to their crimes and Da-jung voluntarily gives them the key to her workstation. It was their plan to lead the prosecutors to the comic book store, where they have already gathered enough evidence about Navis well being scam and even about Jay being the one behind it all. Once Prosecutor Jae-hyuk reaches there, he sees a location tracker on the screen, which was sent by Ro-um, telling them the exact location where she will be meeting Jay, so the police could follow her there.

Once she meets Jay, Ro-um tells him that she knows about his secret account where all the money gets transferred and is handled by a man called Kevin-ju. She tells him to transfer the money he gained from Navis’s scam, so she can give back to the victims. At first, he doesn’t believe that she even knows about the secret account from the data that Kyung-ja was gathering secretly. But specific details make him suspicious and he checks into the account that only he can operate through his phone. Once he logged in, it was confirmed that the account belong to Jay and thus became evidence to indict him.

Jay also realises that he had stepped into Ro-um’s trap and gets absolutely furious. He threatens her by saying that he will kill everyone that she cares for and make her watch. While also choking her neck and even pointing a gun at her head in rage. On the other hand, Han Moo-young was also tracking Ro-um and was carrying the same gun that Jay gave to Ro-um for killing Kyung-ja. Seeing Jay holding a gun to Ro-um’s head, Moo-young shoots at his back and he falls down. Prosecutor Jae-hyuk and the police reach that moment and arrest everyone.

What Happens to Ro-um, Moo-young, Da-jung and Su-ho?

At first, Moo-young is charged with illegal use of a firearm, he even confesses to helping Ro-um escape. But on Jae-hyuk’s advice he change it to self-defense move, since Jay was threatening with a gun and the one in Moo-young’s hand also belonged to Jay. So he said that he picked up Jay’s gun in fear and didn’t reveal the part that he had it in his possession. Also, the CCTV footage from the prosecutor’s office was deleted by Da-jung, so there was no evidence to show that Moo-young was an accomplice in it. Therefore, he was not indicted for any crime.

With Jay’s arrest, the charge of Kyung-ja’s murder was removed from Ro-um’s record but was charged for escaping arrest and the scams they did, along with Da-jung and Suho. Ro-um was given 1 year and 6 months in jail, Da-jung got 1 year, and Su-ho got 10 months of jail as a punishment. Moo-young and Jae-in’s appeal that Jeok-mok exploited these gifted kids and that what they did was a way to reveal the foundation’s bad deeds and get out of the deadly circle helped in empathising with them.

Also, with all the evidence indicating Jay, he was put in prison for Kyung-ja’s murder while the trial was going on for years of scams. Ro-um was also freed from the charges of killing her own parents since Han Jae-seok turned himself in and as a victim, she was awarded 1 million as compensation with 12% every year.

Delightfully Deceitful Happy Ending

Meanwhile, Jae-in and Yo-han grew a liking towards each other and are shown to get married by the end, with a ring on Yo-han’s finger. Ro-um also buys a new house and became close to Da-jung, Su-ho and Ringo, as they even help her in moving. Moo-young’s mother also comes around and apologises to him for leaving in such a dire situation, while Ro-um also apologised to Jae-seok for scamming him. In the end, Moo-young visits Ro-um’s new house and says that he has something to tell Ro-um. The show ends with the two of them smiling but we can predict that they confessed their feelings.
