Masters of the Universe Revolution Review

After a brief introduction of the planet Eternia and the world of dualities that reside on it – magic and technology- it continues to reveal that a revolution comes after every great revelation. It all starts when a battle erupts between good and evil when a mysterious traveller (Prince Adam) embarks on a journey to Subternia. In order to retrieve the remains of the heroes who lost their lives, he takes on Skeletor and enrages him further.

On the other hand, King Randor is at the end of his life and wishes Prince Adam to take the crown. He must choose between wielding the symbol of authority, the sceptre, and ruling as the King of Eternia, or taking up the sword and becoming the heroic champion, He-Man.

The weight of this decision bears heavily on Adam as he contemplates what each role entails and the impact it will have not only on him but also on the people of Eternia. As the King, he would be responsible for the governance and well-being of his subjects, while as He-Man, he would be the protector of the realm, defending it against evil forces and threats.

It also comes at a crucial time when the newly mechanized Skeletor is armed with the might of Motherboard, and Hordak’s rule is planning to attack the heart of Eternia. At the same time, Teela, the new Sorceress of Grayskull, journeys to Darksmoke in search of ancient magic to bring everlasting peace by restoring Preternia.

Masters of the Universe Revolution is all about Adam creating a place for himself while restoring a balance between magic and technology. When the other side has embraced technology and made it their own, the power of ancient magic helps in keeping the endangering advancements in check. But it’s not just He-Man, Skeletor also has some big revelations about his past and his relationship with Hordak, putting forth one hell of a fighting sequence in the series.

The biggest appeal of the series is the nostalgic animation style that pokes at some of the cherished memories of discovering MOTU. The distinctive style with an apt cast and storyline creates a complete and entertaining package. Even if one hasn’t checked out the first part, watching this sequel wouldn’t feel odd in any way. If anything it might encourage you to check out the first part. As for the fans, watch out for some new characters like Buzz-Off, Rio Blast and others to make an appearance. Also, some dialogues might find you off guard as they give a nod to the voice cast’s notable roles.
