Better Late Than Single Season 2: All the Cast Members

Better Late Than Single Season 2

Better Late Than Single Season 2 returns to Netflix with a new batch of eccentric cast members who’ll have viewers either squealing with delight or shouting at their screens. Hosted by Seo In-guk, Kang Han-na, Lee Eun-ji, and Car, the Garden, the dating reality series is created by Studio Modak and produced by Kim Noh-eun & Won Seung-jae.

Compared to the first season, most of the cast members in Better Late Than Single Season 2 are in their late 20s or 30s. Considering many are established in their careers, they’re generally comfortable holding conversations. But it also means many are set in their ways, quick to dismiss potential matches before fully exploring and move on if the match doesn’t immediately align with their checklist.

Better Late Than Single Season 2 Cast Members

Kim Jae-seo

  • Age: 32 years old
  • Occupation: Game developer and analyst for PUBG

Kim Jae-seo was the first contestant introduced on Better Late Than Single Season 2. His introduction was pre-released on YouTube because his look differs from the typical male cast. Though only 32, his grey beard makes him appear 10–15 years older.

A KAIST graduate, he was recruited by his college seniors in 2017 to help develop PUBG. His office provides amenities like a place to shower and nap, so he often ends up spending most of his time at work. For his makeover, his beard was waxed, which produced a complete transformation effect.

Jeon Seo-yeon

  • Age: 29 years old
  • Occupation: B2B Communications specialist at AXA General Insurance

Jeon Seo-yeon shared that her obsession with K-pop idol groups, especially NCT Dream, made it difficult for her to date so far. She spends most of her time fangirling over Jisung and follows the group around on their music show recordings and tours. She came on the show hoping to find someone who would accept her and be willing to go with her to NCT Dream’s concert in Nagoya in January.

Yoon Jung-yun

  • Age: 26 years old
  • Occupation: College Student studying Business Administration at Inha University

While the first two contestants mainly needed appearance makeovers, Yoon Jung-yun revealed he struggles to hold eye contact with members of the opposite sex. Even during his first meeting with the production crew, he couldn’t meet their eyes. To help him, mentor Seo In-guk arranged several blind dates with different women, so Yoon Jung-yun could at least maintain a decent conversation on the show.

Choi Hyun-seo

  • Age: 27 years old
  • Occupation: Art Curator

The biggest obstacle in Choi Hyun-seo’s dating life is her love for 2D characters, appearing in manga and anime. She preferred fictional characters over real men, revealing Toshiro Hijikata from Gintama as her ideal type (we totally get you, girl).

On the other hand, she was critical of her mellow personality, which she says often put men off. Even when she tries to appear energetic, especially at the workplace, people tell her it looks like she’s trying too hard. On the show, she hopes to meet someone and finally be in a relationship.

Lee Han-ju

  • Age: 27 years old
  • Occupation: Korean Medicine Doctor

Lee Han-ju said she considered applying for the first season of Better Late Than Single but chose to try dating on her own first. After none of her blind dates moved to the next stage, she applied for season 2. She prioritises appearance in partners and prefers someone with idol-like looks, especially those with a bad-boy aura. However, her drinking habit often sabotages dates as she becomes a bit aggressive and sometimes says things bluntly that upset the other person.

Ahn Seung-hyun

  • Age: 30 years old
  • Occupation: Dentist

When Ahn Seung-hyun was first introduced, he came across as a decent guy who might do well in the dating world. But as he spoke, it became clear why he’s been single. Despite a happy-go-lucky demeanor, he’s noticeably clumsy and apologizes for everything. His nervousness often makes interactions awkward. To help him, the crew arranged sessions with a speech therapist so he could express his thoughts more clearly and without overthinking.

Kim Soo-hyun

  • Age: 28 years old
  • Occupation: College student pursuing Western painting in Fine Arts at Kyungpook National University.

Hailing from Daegu, Kim Soo-hyun revealed she has never felt romantic attraction to anyone. She applied to the show because of family pressure; they felt she wouldn’t make an effort to date unless pushed into an environment like Better Late Than Single.

Choi Hyuk-joon

  • Age: 31 years old
  • Occupation: Works in the Integrated Marketing Team at GS

For Choi Hyuk-joon, the main reason he remained single was trauma from his first love. Unbeknownst to him, she already had a boyfriend and had been stringing him along; he was shocked and deeply hurt when he found out. He’s also self-conscious about his high-pitched voice, so mentor Seo In-guk arranged voice-coaching and therapy sessions to help him speak more clearly.

Lee Jin-woo

  • Age: 26 years old
  • Occupation: College Student studying Architectural Engineering at Ajou University

Lee Jin-woo was introduced in the second episode of Better Late Than Single. Although he dated someone for one year virtually, they never met in person, so it wasn’t considered real dating. He walked in as a wild card or a catfish at the end of the first night.

Han Su-ji

  • Age: 26 years old
  • Occupation: Pottery and Illustration artist

Along with Jin-woo, Han Su-ji was revealed as a wild card contestant. She lived in the UK during her childhood before returning to South Korea to complete middle and high school. She later returned to the UK to study fine arts and illustration. She entered carrying a red towel with a question written on it. Her task was to give the towel to the person who caught her eye at first glance.

An Jeong-eun

  • Age: 30 years old
  • Occupation: Korean Medicine Doctor

Due to bullying during her school years, An Jeong-eun found it difficult to build interpersonal relationships. To help her work through her childhood trauma and feel more comfortable opening up on the show, the production crew arranged sessions with a therapist.

Kim Tae-hoon

  • Age: 29 years old
  • Occupation: College student studying Public Policy

Similar to Jin-woo, Kim Tae-hoon dated someone for about 50 days during middle school. However, because the relationship left little emotional impact and never felt like love, he does not consider it a real relationship. Instead, his experiences with women have often been a double-edged sword, as his blunt way of speaking has frequently led to arguments and misunderstandings.
