Ever since the latest British teen drama show dropped on Netflix, one question has been on everyone’s mind, if Everything Now Season 2 be happening? It was written and created by Ripley Parker and directed by Alyssa McClelland, Charlie Manton, Dionne Edwards and Laura Steinel.
The ensemble cast of the series includes Sophie Wilde as Mia, Lauryn Ajufo as Becca, Harry Cadby as Cam, Noah Thomas as Will, Jessie Mae Alonzo as Carli, Niamh McCormack as Alison, Vivienne Acheampong as Viv, Alex Hassell as Rick, Sam Reuben as Alex, Stephen Fry as Dr Nell, Robert Akodoto as Theo and others.
The show followed 16-year-old Mia Polanco, who got out of eating disorder rehab after almost 7 months. Excited to go back to her life before, she realises that everything has changed from her friend’s dynamics to her own reputation in school.
Thus she creates an ever-evolving bucket list to do all the things she missed out on. Jumping headfirst into the intoxicating world of dating, partying, drinking and glowing up is on her mind along with overgrowing issues thrown to the back burner. It eventually catches up to her, spiralling her back to the place she had been running from.
Everything Now Ending Explained
Toward the end, on her 17th birthday, all hell breaks loose when Mia gets mad at Alicia for organising a party that makes her uncomfortable & for publicly posting her personal issues on social media. Carli seems like a way out of the chaos at that moment and Mia follows her out. Although she tries to talk to her about Cameron and why is she giving him the cold shoulder, they end up kissing. Cameron happens to see it and an argument ensues between them. Mia once again blames him for her condition, since he was the one who told her parents about her eating disorder.
This time Cameron doesn’t go along with her accusation but tells her straight off that her parents are responsible for her situation, not him. He did what a friend should do since she needed immediate help. At the same moment, Alison also gets to know about the kiss. Also earlier at the party, while Cam was trying to apologise to Becca, Will intervened and fearing that he would reveal the abortion, she went off on him to focus on his own relationship. In the heat of the moment, Will denies the relationship and calls it Theo’s emo crush on him, which he happens to overhear.
After the disaster, the friend group tries to keep their distance from each other and even avoids Carli. Mia doesn’t contact anyone and after how she blasted off everyone, they decide to give her space. However, at home, her mother finds out that Mia has been storing all the snacks in her cupboard and probably hasn’t eaten in a week. She tells him that Mia has to go back to rehab and starts collecting her things, which makes her run away from home. She reaches out to Carli and takes her out to complete things on her bucket list.

Viv tries to find her everywhere and reaches the senior centre where her friends and kids’ school are volunteering. Hearing that Mia might have spiralled back hits them with guilt that they weren’t able to help her out. This brings them together to have conversations with each other and they finally get a chance to get things out of their chest. Becca tells Cam about the abortion and Will explains to Theo, how he has been feeling about them dating.
On the other hand, when Mia refuses to eat and is fixated on checking off things on the list, Charli senses there’s something wrong and they get into an argument. Mia tries to dash off alone in anger when Charli refuses to follow along with the runaway plan. But she instead tries to calm her down by saying that Mia could never win over her illness if she kept running. They go back to Dr Nell who consoles Mia that she has come a long way and can definitely move on from this, by working on her issues & seeking help.
In the end, she isn’t hospitalised and promises to do better instead of hiding. She also apologises to Becca, Cam and Will, as they also promise to help her in every way. Becca also reveals that she has broken off with Jonah, probably due to Cam, who confessed his love for her. But after she left, he ended up getting drunk & sleeping with Alison. Thus he feels conflicted if he should reveal this or pursue Becca again.
Will There Be Everything Now Season 2?
The show’s ending leaves lots of possibilities for the story to go forward. The creators could explore what really happens afterwards if Becca and Cam get together or Mia is able to win back Charli by showing how much she has improved while dealing with their school graduation. Or they can take a leap to college and show how Mia has adjusted to a new life but is still haunted by the past trauma & elaborate on what really triggered her eating disorder.
There has been no official notice from Netflix or the creators about the renewal of the show so far, but it might be too soon to say. Looking at the early positive reviews and the story, it’s evident that Everything Now will become the new popular show. And with the open ending, many viewers would be wondering and asking what happens next.
Everything Now is available for streaming on Netflix.
