Happy Ending Review
The film has a steamy start as Luna and Mink test out the soundproofing of their room before doing the deed. Although they are having fun, soon we realise that Luna might not be as satisfied with the sex, as Mink believes. In fact, she has never been able to reach the climax with Mink and has to use her vibrator afterwards, in secret. The answer to how she reached there lies right at the start of her relationship.
Mink works at a restaurant where Luna joined as a part-time, for a while. Casually flirting leads to an exciting and intimate night where Luna pretends to have an orgasm, simultaneously with Mink. And she keeps pretending till it’s the one-year anniversary of their relationship. Urged by a kinky gift from their friend (furry handcuffs), Luna suggests if Mink would be down to have a threesome, to spice things up between them.
Unfazedly Mink gets on board and they start their search for the third partner, for just one night. From dating apps to approaching people in a club, they seek the one everywhere, but with no luck. Until they bump into Eve while going to a costume party on their bicycle and realise that she might be perfect. Without further ado, the trio do meet up and have a lovely time together, without any weird feelings or jealousy. Surprisingly, Luna gets an orgasm too, but the issue is – Eve was the one to help her reach the climax, while Mink was passed down.

This is the pivotal point in the story, as Luna gets to experience what it feels like to reach a high with someone else and gets obsessed with that euphoric feeling. So much so that it’s the only thing that she thinks about and projects them on Eve. Becoming more and more unsatisfied with Mink and his ways, Luna finds herself knocking on Eve’s doors, without telling her boyfriend, maybe even keeping it a secret. But what would happen when he gets to know that his girlfriend is cheating with Eve and she was unsatisfied all this time?
Initially, the story looks quite generic where the female lead gets sexually obsessed with someone else. As it progresses and we get to know Luna more, we realise it’s not just a steamy plot but highlights some issues that many face. Luna isn’t able to communicate what she really wants in bed because she went along with whatever happened during the first time. Then the fear of how to correct Mink, without hurting his ego or making their relationship worse.
What I really liked about the film is how they portrayed the boyfriend’s character. Usually, whenever the subject of bringing a third person into one’s relationship is shown, they make either one of the partners become jealous/passive-aggressive or weirdly obsessed with just banging the new person. Meanwhile, Mink is just neutral and even assures Luna, if she feels even slightly weird or unsure of his feelings. Even when her affair with Eve gets exposed, he isn’t shown to go on a revenge sex spree or get even by doing the same with Eve.
Reading the film’s description, one would imagine it to be mostly erotic but it’s much more than that. It’s a film that gets the challenges of satisfactory sex from a women’s perspective, completely right. Although you get frustrated with Luna’s inability to communicate her honest thoughts properly, what she deals with is a realistic issue. How she overcomes it all and sorts it out with her green-beige flag boyfriend is something everyone should watch. And surely, the climax is the best part of the film which will leave you truly satisfied.
