Lies Hidden in My Garden Episode 5 Preview shows Moon Joo-ran (Kim Tae-hee) and Chu Sang-eun (Lim Ji-yeon) visiting the motel that Lee Soo-min’s acquaintance had called them to. The man asks if Joo-ran is Park Jae-ho’s wife and a flashback shows that the man clicked those pictures of them in the parking. While they ask him where Soo-min is.
It is evident that Sang-eun is trying to put the blame for her husband’s death on Jae-ho (Kim Sung-oh) and Joo-ran doesn’t think he did. She then questions why is she following around trying to dig up what happened, when she isn’t actually believing the lies Jae-ho told. It means that there’s a suspicion in her mind that he might have killed Yun-beom (Choi Jae-rim). During the argument, Joo-ran ends up slapping her.
It is also shown that a dead body has been found by the police and it’s identified as Lee Soo-min. Joo-ran eventually confronts Jae-ho and he questions her intensely if she really has to know all about it. She digs up her garden again to see what she will find when her son tells her that he also felt the same smell that she was complaining about. The video ends with Joo-ran asking if Seung-jae also knows what’s going around.

Lies Hidden in My Garden Episode 4 Recap
In episode 4, it is revealed that Joo-ran believed that their apartment neighbour had killed her sister and when the same man turns up as Seung-jae’s homeroom teacher, she loses it. She becomes anxious and fearful of losing her son as well. In one event, she ends up going there in her anxious mind and hits the teacher with a burning stick, thinking he is taking Seung-jae somewhere. This leaves the question if Joo-ran’s anxiousness is legitimate or if she is suffering from mental illness.

When she visits Sang-eun, she shows him how her husband would keep track of the things others did & blackmail them for money. He had connected Jae-ho with a girl named Lee Soo-min, whose phone is now with Sang-eun. She has been missing for a few months now and her cellphone’s last location was found at Cornelia. Soo-min was an underage girl who would trap people looking for prostitutes and then blackmail them for trying to sleep with an underage. Jae-ho could have gotten involved in the same.
They try to visit the girl’s house but she had run away months ago & when her father talks to Sang-eun in an angry and intimidating tone, she panics and is reminded of her own abuse. Joo-ran had to save her from there before she harmed the man with the broken alcohol bottle. They are working together to find out the truth, while Sang-eun knows that Jae-ho didn’t kill Yun-beom, she just wants the money and Joo-ran is making it a bit more easier. While he might be innocent in that case, the flashback shows that Jae-ho actually killed Soo-min in their house & then buried her body in the garden, after stuffing her in a bag.
