Lies Hidden in My Garden Episode 8 Preview reveals that Chu Sang-eun (Lim Ji-yeon) might have been the one that got deceived by Moon Joo-ran (Kim Tae-hee) and her husband Park Jae-ho (Kim Sung-oh). Joo-ran had conspired to kill her husband with Sang-eun’s help but it was a trap to get rid of her instead.
In the video, Joo-ran is seen walking up to Sang-eun’s unconscious body lying on the ground and is seen to be holding a sharp object in her hand. In the background, a conversation between Joo-ran and Jae-ho can be heard where he is saying that Sang-eun will try to blackmail them all their life, now that she knows the truth about Soo-min’s death.

The voice continues with a conversation between Sang-eun and Joo-ran, where she asks if it was her plan to deceive her from the start. Joo-ran replies that it was the only way, she had planned to kill her with her husband. However, the visuals tell a different story, where Sang-eun attacks Jae-ho with the same sharp object that Joo-ran was holding.
He is also seen trying to kill Joo-ran as well, while she is trying to run away by sliding onto the stairs but he follows her. Sang-eun is also trying to gain the strength to stand up and even crawl towards the window to seek help from neighbours. It can be inferred from the video that Joo-ran might survive everything and ends the video by saying that the secret should be buried/hidden.

In episode 7, it is revealed that Joo-ran had a toxic relationship with her mother, who even blamed her for her sister’s death. Joo-ran’s sister had stayed at her apartment because she had gone on a vacation with Jae-ho and while she was gone, Young-ran was murdered. With her mother also blaming her for it, she started to feel guilty about everything and blamed herself for letting Young-ran stay at her place. But now Joo-ran wants to get out of this guilt cycle and asks her mother to apologise when she asks her to take care of Seung-jae for a few days.

On the other hand, Joo-ran calls Sang-eun home, when she sends the pictures taken from Seung-jae’s room that evidently link him with Soo-min’s murder. She gives her 200 million won and asks her to kill Jae-ho, to get the remaining 300 million won. Sang-eun is obviously stunned but being strapped for money, she agrees and makes the plan to kill. She asks Joo-ran to make it seem that Jae-ho tried to meet with Sang-eun at the reservoir to tell about her husband’s death.
But in reality, Joo-ran was supposed to give sleeping pills to Jae-ho, so that they can shove him in the car and show that he left for the reservoir at promised time. However, they will plant the evidence related to Soo-min in his hand and shove the car into the water body, with the unconscious Jae-ho in the driver’s seat. As planned, Sang-eun reaches her place at 2 PM and Jae-ho is seen sleeping after drinking the laced juice. When she turns to Joo-ran to tell her how to reach the reservoir without getting caught by the camera, Jae-ho is seen injecting Sang-eun with something.
