Lights Album Tracklist

Hype Energy

This rap song shows the side of Joohoney that we have often seen in the group. It is like a loud and clear announcement of his arrival to the scene and he will be gathering all his energy and spreading it around. The lyrics talk about his journey in the past years and how he felt envious of his fellow peers, getting ahead in their careers. But it’s his time to shine now & instead of typically dissing others, he raps that while respecting his seniors and even juniors – he will create his own path & nobody can stop him.

Voice

Voice is a hip-hop song, that extends the emotions of the intro song into an almost 2-minute track, that shows the artist’s will to fight for his success. The lyrics say that hip-hop is in his blood and he will be showing it all, thinking of this as his last chance.

Freedom

The title track of the album proves that Joohoney can sing as impeccably as he raps without taking a breath. The song starts off in an RnB style but soon changes its course with hip-hop elements. The music video also features the Prime Kingz dance group, who were part of the Street Man Fighter dance competition show. In the dance break section of the song, the group and the rapper give a krumping performance without missing a beat.

It will be interesting to see the live performance of the track on music shows & if the dance crew will also be part of it. Freedom is the perfect song to introduce the artist and his range in singing, rapping and even dancing.

진화 (Evolution)

Evolution brings more of the singer side and imparts the message that one can truly grow by learning from their past and never forgetting about it. The lyrics express how he was afraid to venture out on his own & it took a lot of courage to take his first step.

독백 Monologue (Feat. GSoul)

With some jazzy influences, Monologue also features the soulful singer GSoul, who brings an emotional touch to the song. It delves into the nitty-gritty of the subject mentioned in Evolution. Joohoney shares his fears, anxiety and inner feelings. The song is like a conversation with oneself and GSoul brings in the needed comfort.

Dont Worry, Be Happy

The last track is dedicated to the artist and Monsta X’s fans, where the singer reminisces the moment when he first met them and how they were together in every beautiful moment. He appreciates their support and promises that more such happy days will come in the future when they will be together.

Final Thoughts: The album showcases Joohoney as an all-rounded artist in the best way. He has created the base for himself and we can only expect him to take further steps to reach greater heights with more music in future. Personally, Evolution stands out the most apart from the title track.
