Moving Season 2: Will the Show Return With Second Instalment? What Can We Expect?

Moving Season 2

Ever since the supernatural K-drama’s final episode dropped on Disney+, the question – whether Moving Season 2 be coming out in the near future has been on everyone’s mind. Based on the popular webtoon of the same name (무빙) by Kang Full (강풀) – who is also the creator of the show, the series is directed by Park In-Je and produced by Studio&NEW.

The cast of the series includes Ryu Seung-ryong as Jang Joo-won, Han Hyo-joo as Lee Mi-hyeon, Zo In-sung as Kim Doo-shik, Cha Tae-hyun as Jeon Gye-do, Ryoo Seung-bum as Frank, Kim Sung-kyun as Lee Jae-man, Lee Jung-ha as Kim Bong-seok, Go Youn-jung as Jang Hee-soo, Kim Do-hoon as Lee Kang-hoon, Kim Hee-won as Choi Il-hwan, Moon Sung-keun as Min Yong-jun, Kim Shin-rok as Yeo Woon-gyu, Park Hee-soon as Kim Deok-yun, Shin Jae-hwi as Bang Ki-soo, Shim Dal-gi as Shin Hye-won, Kwak Sun-young as Hwang Ji-hee and Park Bo-kyung.

What Happened in Moving Season 1?

Initially, we saw how Jang Joo-won, Lee Mi-hyeon and Kim Doo-shik crossed paths with each other as NIS agents. Going through various ups and downs in their lives and completing secret missions, Mi-hyeon and Doo-shik started a life together and Joo-won found love in Hwang Ji-hee. Having been exploited at the hands of NIS, they didn’t want their children to go through the same, as they inherited their powers as well. Thus, most of them ran away and started their own business like restaurants or salons.

In the present day, the school where their kids study is a secret organisation created by NIS agents, to train the new generation without letting anyone know. Like Mi-hyeon’s son, Kim Bong-seok can fly & have heightened senses, Joo-won’s daughter Jang Hee-soo has the ability to recover & regrow. And like them, there are other kids, Lee Kang-hoon who has superspeed and strength, just like his father Lee Jae-man. However, nobody knows about their powers except the head teacher, who keeps a tab on them secretly.

After a video of an accident at the school gym, where Kang-hoon saves Hee-soo with his superspeed goes viral, the eyes of dangerous organisations fall on them. Meanwhile, a man named Frank is sent by the US secret organisation to hunt everyone down, one by one. All hell breaks loose when the North Korean agents reach their school premises to check on the kid’s powers. Coincidentally, Mi-hyeon and Joo-won also happen to be in the vicinity and show off their dormant skills to save their children.

By coming across the North Korean Agents, Bong-seok finally gains control over his flying skills and does his best to save his mother and lover Hee-soo. Jae-man finally breaks free to save Kang-hoon, who ends up joining the NIS on his own will and to clear Jae-man’s criminal record. Almost all of the North Korean agents lost their lives, except one who could fly (Yang Dong-geun as Jung Joon-hwa) and the one with healing power – he gets taken in by Joo-won to live together.

While Joon-hwa flies back to his country and ends up killing the secret organisation’s head in the rage of losing his teammates. He then reveals that Kim Doo-shik was actually alive and held captive in North Korea. Joon-hwa sets him free to go back to his family and save them. The school goes back to normal with the senior class graduating, except for Bong-seok, who moves to another place with his mother. After returning to South Korea, Doo-shik shoots down the head of NIS and finally meets his family on the rooftop.

However, the NIS head was soon replaced by the ruthless Ma Sang-gu (Park Byung-eun), who captured Doo-shik when he was in hiding with his family. Hinting that the organisation will keep on going, no matter what. In the ending credits, Frank is shown to have abandoned his secret mission and goes to the Las Vegas Club, where his mother used to work. The US authority is definitely not happy with it and calls another agent named Elias, to probably go after him.

Will There Be Moving Season 2? What Can We Expect?

Considering how the ending shows that the secret organisations will keep on going, the possibility of another season seems pretty high. Also, being one of the popular shows on Disney+ with a high viewer rating, public anticipation might lead to more stories from the creators. As of now, there has been no confirmation from Kangfull or the production team about another instalment. Although on the YouTube show MMTG, he did hint that there are many stories that weren’t covered in the show and if needed they can be explored as well.

Coming to the show ending, with a new NIS head who especially hates Doo-shik’s guts, it’s inevitable that Mi-hyeon, Bong-seok and Doo-shik will face the repercussions of their actions. With Bong-seok secretly saving people during tragic accidents, his identity getting exposed and inadvertently revealing other supernatural people is also a possibility. From the start, Kang-hoon felt like the other one from his classmates and now being a NIS agent, it’s possible that he could be tasked with capturing his classmates.

Especially, the end credits scene with Frank going missing another agent named Elias called for the mission -hints at a new character addition to the show. There could be more to Frank’s story, as he goes back to his childhood place and might turn on the other side. While Elias could be a deceptive character, bringing dangerous encounters to the children. There seem to be many stories that could be explored if the creators do decide to renew the show.
