The whole premise of the show is to know if Sergio (Arón Piper) actually killed his parents or not. Towards the end of the show, we get to know that his mother was Ana’s (Almudena Amor) role model and thus her fascination with the whole case, to the point of adopting Noa is somewhat explained. She is hell-bent on proving that he is in fact not the balcony killer & whatever happened could be an accident.

In the last episode, after taking off his ankle monitor and almost killing Priest Natanael, when he is stopped by his wife and she tells him to run as his alarm must have gone off. While he reaches his home after texting Noa’s number, which he got from his aunt and waits for her to reply to him. But it’s her concert day and Ana happens to see him calling her. She thinks that it’s time to let both the siblings meet but her husband Benat, doesn’t think so. Not being able to convince him, Ana goes to meet Sergio alone.

She then reveals how she had adopted Noa and knows everything about her mother’s experiments on him. She leads him to the secret room behind the mirror and shows how his feeling of being watched wasn’t wrong. This breaks him down and he leans into Ana for support and comfort but just then Marta turns up at his house. After getting to know how Eneko was the one to record and send their sex tape to everyone, pretending as if it was Sergio, she wanted to talk and explain to him.

But seeing Ana there, she ends up revealing about the cameras and how she is the one keeping a watch on him, ever since he was released. It makes him all the more confused and furious, that he starts taking apart all the hidden cameras and breaking them. Only a few that they weren’t able to take out were capturing everything and sending it to the experiment team. There they see that Eneko also comes looking for Marta and ends up fighting with Sergio. In his rage, he is about to hit Eneko with a glass ornament but Marta stops him & walks out of the house.

While inside, Ana tries to calm him down which works to an extent as he reveals that his mother was about to start the same experiments on Noa and he couldn’t take it anymore. His argument with Blanca became only bigger with his dad also getting involved. As his parents were fighting with each other, the dad ends up pushing the mom off the balcony by accident. He never intended to kill her and thus he also jumps to his death in his guilt. After witnessing all this, Sergio tried to look for Noa and sit with her until the police came. This testimony makes Ana believe even more in Sergio’s innocence and tries to tell him that she is just the same, never found a place or person with whom she can fit in.

However, Noa decides to meet her brother regardless and reaches the house at the same moment. Unpredictably, she contradicts everything that Sergio said and shares that his inability to control his impulses was getting out of hand and he was not even taking his medication. On that particular day, his emotions got the best of him & he kills his parents in rage, just like the police had shown in the news report. She further says that it is only for Ana that she came to the house & not to meet him. But when Ana refuses to go with her, she ends up leaving alone.

Once she leaves, Ana and Sergio stand there in silence and share an intimate moment on the balcony. However, it takes a dark turn when we see that among the two people, one of them is pushed from the balcony and the other one stands there, looking at the person fall down. While it is shown through a broken camera and doesn’t really reveal who actually fall down but if you look closely and keep an eye on the clothes, then it looks like Ana is the one to fall down.

The question still remains whether Sergio killed his parents or not but by pushing Ana down, he has certainly become the balcony killer. The open ending leaves the interpretation with the viewers to decide whether they think he is innocent or not. Personally, I think that Noa repeated the version that has been repeated by the media as she has internalised it as the truth. Sergio might have actually told the truth about not killing his own parents but when he realises that the only person that would have been by his side, is even putting the blame on him, he ends up becoming exactly what the public has been projecting on him.
