My Perfect Stranger Episode 12 Recap/Review: Real Killer Makes a Move

My Perfect Stranger Episode 12

My Perfect Stranger Episode 12 has another twist in store, as the culprit might be someone that we have never suspected before. Hae-jun’s dad had found the matchbox with the note inside, at the house and suspecting him of being the killer, he confronted him about it.

With no appropriate response at hand, Hae-jun (Kim Dong-wook) tells him that he cannot explain how he possesses it but when the car gets repaired then he will get to know all about it. While his dad still had suspicions about him, he believes in him for the time being.

On the other hand, Ko Min-soo is arrested by the police after Mi-suk’s testimony. They search his room and even find the red rope that was used to tie the victims & some knives. The police officers were elated to finally find the culprit, as they can close the case now but Baek Dong-sik insisted that the handwriting of the notes don’t match. But his senior officer is not concerned, since they have enough evidence against Min-soo.

Hae-jun and Yoon-young also know that Min-soo can not be the one to kill, as his hand was broken on the night of the murder. They suspect Mi-suk but some evidence has to be there to frame her. In the novel, she had mentioned Kim Hae-kyung witnessing something about the murders. So they try to pry on her and tell them what did she see. At first, she was not ready to tell them anything but eventually opens up to Hae-jun.

She reveals that Min-soo was actually found by her when he fell off the bridge & she called Mi-suk to get him. While they were on the way to get him, Mi-suk reveals how his brother hits her and their parents don’t care. In between conversations, they accidentally witnessed the real killer placing the assistant teacher’s body by the river. Hae-kyung was not able to see the killer’s face but Mi-suk had a good look at the person. They silently escape from there and Hae-kyung was about to go to the police when Mi-suk stops her.

She shows her hidden injuries from her brother’s physical abuse to her & says that she can blame the murders on Min-soo, so that he will go away from her life. Wanting to help her friend, Hae-kyung agrees but is still worried that more murders could happen, thus, she tells Hae-jun. While he was telling all this back at his home to Yoon-young, the phone rang. On the other line was Bum-ryong, who tells that he saw Soon-ae at Kyung-ae’s grave in the evening but when he came back later, there was no sign of her & her belongings were still there.

He thinks that something has happened to her but the police are not concerned about it, since they have caught the culprit. Both of them immediately reach the mentioned location and try to find her. While Bum-ryong was also searching, he comes across the abandoned house & finds Soon-ae tied up with the killer hovering right over her. He tries to tackle him so that she can run away. But in the process, he gets killed by the killer.

While running away, the killer chases her but when he sees Hae-jun (Kim Dong-wook) coming in their direction, he disappears. Officer Dong-sik also reaches there with Hee-sub & Yoon-young (Jin Ki-joo), so Hae-jun decides to chase the killer instead. On the way, he comes across the same house and finds Bum-ryong’s dead body lying in the same way, he was supposed to die in the future. It sends him into a trance & when Dong-sik finds him looking at the body with a blank gaze & bloody hands, he thinks that Hae-jun was the one to kill him.

My Perfect Stranger Episode 12 Review

At first, Ko Mi-suk being the culprit seemed too straight forwards and confused the viewers if she is the killer or not. However, in the last few episodes, more evidence pointed at her which made many believe that she could be the one, after all. But now, it looks like the killer might be someone we never noticed.

Whoever, it may be, the creators have done a good job to keep it a secret until now. With only two weeks remaining, there should at least be some hints about the person. If it turns out to be some random villager, then it would be such a shame to have all this build-up for a lousy reveal.
