My Perfect Stranger Episode 7 Recap/Review: One Variable Creates More Variables

My Perfect Stranger Episode 7

My Perfect Stranger Episode 7 shows Hae-jun and Yoon-young trying to save the second victim but things go completely haywire. Titled 어쩌다 마주친 그대 in Korean, the title roughly translates to ‘A chance encounter with you’. The fantasy thriller drama is written by Baek So-yeon and co-directed by Kang Soo-yeon and Lee Woong-hee. Produced by Arc Media, the K-Drama is broadcasted on KBS.

The ensemble cast of the series includes Kim Dong-wook as Yoon Hae-jun, Jin Ki-joo as Baek Yoon-young, Seo Ji-hye as Lee Soon-ae, Park Soo-young as Hyung-man, Kim Jung-young as Ok-ja, Lee Won-jung as Baek Hee-sub, Choi Young-woo as Dong-sik, Kim Jong-soo as Byung-gu, Jung Jae-kwang as Yeon-woo, Kim Hye-eun as Go Mi-suk and several others.

After getting to know that the owner of the blue cap is actually Baek Yu-sub, both Hae-jun and Yoon-young have to go through the events, from the start. Because in the police records, there was absolutely no mention of him being a suspect or a witness. Yoon-young then reflects on her own life and the time when she used to live along with her family and uncle.

It shows that Yu-sub will be suffering from some mental and physical illness, thus making his brother Hee-sub take care of him. This makes Hae-jun get all the facts right & he ends up at his house, where Hee-sub was in a hurry to go somewhere while carrying clothes and other stuff. Hae-jun asks him the reason for coming back to the Inn Alley, when he had already left with his brother, on the day of the student teacher’s murder. He then replies that his brother had asked him to check if the light was on in the inn’s top-floor room.

Later on, Hee-sub is seen in the hospital, probably taking the stuff to his uncle as he was tending to the children that got caught in the burning house. There he throws away the blue cap in the trash bin but just then Mi-suk picks the cap back & gives a confusing smile. She had come to give some stuff to her mother, who works as a doctor in the same hospital.

Later on, Hae-jun reveals that the second victim is none other than, Kyung-ae, who is Yoon-young’s aunt. She is surprised to know that she gets murdered because as far as she knew, her aunt died of bad health. Therefore, they hatch a plan to follow her the whole day, as she is an unpredictable character who does anything, without any reason. She wants to take part in the Miss Korea pageant and apparently needs money for that, however, she isn’t able to get financial support from her family. Thus she steals the hidden stash of money, kept there by her father and goes on with her day. Due to money issues, she also has a fight with Soon-ae.

It turns out that she had fallen for a scam where the person promises them a winning place in the pageant by asking for 500 bucks and even trafficks them. Hae-jun and Yoon-young witness how the van stopped in front of Kyung-ae when she called a number & while having second doubts about giving the money, she gets into a fight with the scammers. Yoon-young is unable to see her get harmed, also the money could be helpful to her own mother, thus she meddles in it despite being warned by Hae-jun. The scammers start to beat him up instead and surprisingly Yu-sub saves him and in catching the scammers. By the time the police officer comes, Kyung-ae seems to have vanished.

They search for her at every possible place where the victims were found but couldn’t find her. Until they reach the tea house and there Kyung-ae was happily singing her heart out. However, Ko Min-su was also there and suspicions rise that he is the one who actually murdered. Hae-jun also reveals how his sister Mi-suk was the sole witness who claimed to have seen him murder people & thus he ended up in jail. While waiting for Kyung-ae, Yoon-young sees Soon-ae with Yoo Bum-ryong, even when she said that she will break up with him. She tells Hae-jun to keep an eye on Kyung-ae while she goes after her mother.

It turns out to be the right decision as Bum-ryong was trying to take Soon-ae to the inn, as he wanted to get intimate with her before breaking up. He forces her to go inside but Yoon-young comes at that moment and tries to save her. When Bum-ryong tries to use his force on Yoon-young as well, Hee-sub turns up there & beats him, while the mother and daughter run away. Meanwhile, while going back home, Min-su follows Kyung-ae and tries to take her away by force as well but while trying to save herself, he falls down the bridge.

Hae-jun comes there to help her & checks on Min-su, who seems to have broken his arm as the distance between the bridge & muddy land was not much. They leave them there and he drops Kyung-ae home. On the way, she shares her concern about not being accomplished and feels embarrassed to face her family after being scammed. Hae-jun then advises her that she can become a TV presenter if not Miss Korea and gives her the envelope of money that the scammers took.

While they were able to save the second victim from getting murdered as well, the real culprit was yet unknown to them. On the same night, Hae-jun gets a call from Bum-ryong, who tells him that the student teacher has died instead. It leaves them in shock since they were sure that she was safe since they sent her back to Seoul.

Summing Up: My Perfect Stranger Episode 7

The mystery behind the murderer is getting more complicated. The fact that the teacher ends up dead despite all the measures means that Kyung-ae will also face the same fate. However, the real culprit is yet to be figured out and everything that they knew about the incidents has also changed. It is definite that Mi-suk has something to do with them & she might have involved the Baek brothers with her. The next episode might delve more into her since she was barely shown in the latest episode.
