Nineteen to Twenty Episodes 4-6 Review: Swaying Feelings

Nineteen to Twenty Episodes 4-6

Nineteen to Twenty Episodes 4-6 have been released on July 18, 2023, after heart-fluttering initial episodes, last week. It is hosted by Kyuhyun, Jeong Se-woon, Lee Su-hyun and Kim Ji-eun. The South Korean teen reality show is created by Sijak Company, written by Ji Hyun-sook and produced by Kim Su-a.

The cast of the show includes Moon Se-yeon, Lim Jung-yun, Oh Sang-won, Lee Ji-min, Jung Seo-yeong, Choi Seo-hyeon, Noh Hee-ji, Jeong Ji-woo, Kim Pyeong-seok and Choi Ye-rin. The concept of the show follows these 19-year-olds, a week before they all turn 20 on New Year. Following what they learnt and the relationships they created, they will be living together in a house as 20-year-olds, for a week.

Nineteen to Twenty Episode 4 – New Connections

The last episode ended with the cast preparing for the cooking class and waiting for their partners. Co-incidentally, Ye-rin and Se-yeon choose the same dish and were paired together. Ji-woo was paired with Ji-min and had a good time getting to know each other, similarly, Seo-hyeon and Pyeong-seok were paired for the first time. The cooking class mixed the cast with new partners and that made them discover new sides to each other.

After the cooking class, they went to the amusement park in Wolmi-do and the highlight was the disco pang pang swing and the Ferris wheel. Ji-woo and Ji-min got much closer on the disco swing, as they were holding on to each other closely. But Ji-woo took a liking to Jung-yun more, when they went on the Ferris wheel together. Even Se-yeon felt attracted to Ji-woo, as compared to Ye-rin and wasn’t sure who to pick. The arrival of new transfer students definitely shook things up that were built before.

Nineteen to Twenty Episode 5 – Transition to Adult Life

In episode 5, the cast takes the dancesport class and learns the cha-cha from instructors An Hye-seong and Kim Dong-gu. At first, they are told to dance with rotating partners and the ones who did well were paired by the instructors. The students, who had a spark between them could be seen taking more time with each other & trying to be by their side. The classmates especially tease Hee-ji and Pyeong-seok as their crush was clearly visible on their faces.

They also had another AMA (Ask me anything) but this time, the boys were the ones who had to answer all the questions. The girls tried to assess what their crush might be feeling and if they thought of them in the same light or not. Seo-hyeon tried to know Pyeong-seok more, after having fun in the cooking class but it was clear that he had his mind set on Hee-ji. Meanwhile, Ji-min and Se-yeon gave mixed signals to the people who were interested in them and hinted at their likeness towards Ji-woo.

It was also the last day as students and they will be spending New Year’s Eve together in the 20 house, living together for a week. One by one, the cast members entered the house, dressed up to party. The guys were definitely surprised to see the girls out of their school uniforms and dressed up to T.

Nineteen to Twenty Episode 6 – Lifting the Dating Ban

With the New Year, the dating ban was also lifted and the cast was free to express their feelings and even take it further if reciprocated. They spent most of the night drinking for the first time and their drunk self made many feel more courageous. It was helpful for Jung-yun and Ji-woo, as they were able to have a good time and more conversation than they had in school.

The next morning they were informed about the concept of a Dream date. This means they can go on a special date with the person they like but only once. They can not take the same person for another dream date. However, they can go on casual dates with anyone, anywhere with no restrictions. Sang-won was the first one to ask Seo-hyeon out for a casual date but she felt that going on a date with him first would set things in stone and other people might not approach her. She wants to get to know others as well, before making a final decision.

While Pyeong-seok also made the first move on Hee-ji after gathering much courage and casually asking her out for a date in the evening. Hee-ji has been the one who actively pursued him and Pyeong-seok asking her out first definitely showed his sincere feelings towards her. Ji-min also braces himself to ask Ji-woo out but Seio-yeong asks him out first and he says yes to her, in the moment. It’s evident that he doesn’t have any romantic interest in her but was not able to reject her due to fear of hurting her feelings.

Nineteen to Twenty Episodes 4-6 Review

Initially, it seemed like they all were paired with the one they might have an interest in, but there seem to be some love triangles forming up. Ji-woo will have to make a decision in the coming episodes about whom she would like to date and it will also depend on the effort the other person makes. Seo-yeong’s case looks like they will not be able to form any romantic connections with anyone since she isn’t interested in anyone else particularly.

Se-yeon’s change of heart was also a bit surprising but then again, having a crush is not set in stone and feelings could change once they get to know the person. Also, Seo-hyeon’s concern is also valid but at this point, it seems that she might not be as attracted to Sang-won and want to have her options open. Jung-yun remains to be the funniest person on the show and the more he is put in awkward situations, things become hilarious.

Nineteen to Twenty is currently streaming on Netflix. New episodes (7-10) will be released on July 25, 2023.
