Nineteen to Twenty Episode 7 – First Dates
As the cast members gathered courage and asked the person they were interested in, out for a date, Hee-ji went out with Pyeong-seok to a Japanese restaurant. Jimin went out with Seo-yeong and Sang-won took Seo-hyeon for a date. The dates made their feeling more evident, Hee-ji & Pyeong-seok seemed like a couple already dating, with eyes only on each other. Contrarily, Jimin seem to be making a boundary with Seo-yeong and she also realised that they can’t be more than friends.
While Sang-won and Seo-hyeon had a good time and he has been straightforward about his feelings for her. Seo-hyeon on the other hand was not so sure if her feelings a more friendly comfort or romantically inclined. Among the people that were left at home, Se-yeon made his attraction towards Ji-woo more clear and even shared the same with Ye-rin.
Although she was supportive and wanted to get to know others too, she couldn’t help but feel a bit sad as she wasn’t his first choice. The destination of the first dream dates was also revealed – one was a full rental of lotte world adventure and the second was stargazing. Sang-won was the first one to put his name for Lotte World and Seo-hyeon also agreed to go with him.

Nineteen to Twenty Episode 8 – New Connections
After coming back from his date with Seo-yeong, he decided to be forthcoming and expressed his interest in Ji-woo. It took her by surprise, as she never expected him to be into her but now there are two more suitors, apart from Jung-yun. He doesn’t really express his jealousy but it was evident in his behaviour. Even when he took Ji-woo out on a casual date, she kept on poking him to say something or honestly tell what was on his mind. But his silence was frustrating.
On the other hand, Se-yeon has been making the initiative to get Ji-woo’s heart and that made her feel conflicted. Even though she is more interested in Jung-yun, his ambiguousness is making her take a step back and get to know other people instead. Amidst all this, Jimin took Ye-rin out for a bowling date as friends but spending time together changed their equation. He started to see her in a different light and got curious about Ye-rin.
However, they drank so much that the creators made a new rule, where the cast’s chance for a dream date will be taken back if they drank more than they can handle. Sang-won and Seo-hyeon also went on their Lotte date and it was just like the ones shown in drama, where the male lead books the whole amusement park for their partner.
Nineteen to Twenty Episode 9 – Getting Complicated
After the first dream date reveals, the second location was revealed at midnight. It included a full rental of a movie theatre and the other was Hanwoo Omakase. Seo-yeong was the first one to write her name on the movie theatre option as she had planned to take Sang-won with her. Others were not so keen on the other option thus it was left empty. Ye-rin also asked Pyeong-seok out on a date to the comic book store and had a fun time but she soon realised that he isn’t interested in her otherwise.
Seo-hyeon also takes the chance and asks Jung-yun if he would like to go on a date with her since she wanted to know him better. Considering how Ji-woo was out on a date with Se-yeon and could potentially go out again the next day with Jimin, he said yes. However, Jimin had a change of heart and keep thinking about Ye-rin more.
Nineteen to Twenty Episode 10 – Tears Trickle Down
The new dream date locations turned out to be quite exciting as they were taking out on a trip to Busan and second to Gyeong-ju. It made everyone excited and seeing Jung-yun being so proactive about his trip planning with Seo-yeon made Ji-woo feel bad. Jung-yun would always give a cold response to going on the dream date with her but seeing him being the one to initiate, she felt played.
Similarly, Ye-rin was disappointed that Se-yeon was not even considering taking her out on any date. Trying to keep a straight face, both of the girls ended up crying. Jimin caught Ye-rin at the right time and asked her out for the dream date. It made her feel better but when he heard how Ye-rin had been keeping hopes on Se-yeon and even asking Pyeong-seok out for a dream date earlier, he felt betrayed as she never asked him out or chose him.
He confronts her about it and tells her that if she really wants to give him a chance honestly, then she should use her dream date ticket. Yet Ye-rin couldn’t give him the response he wanted and he realised that she is still hung up on Se-yeon and even if he tries, he can’t make her interested in him. Meanwhile, everyone got to know about Ji-woo crying and that made Jung-yun feel worried.
His plan with Seo-hyeon had already fallen through but he still needed to clear things up with her. Ji-woo expressed her frustration honestly and for the first time, Jung-yun put up his thoughts on the table to clear the misunderstandings.
Nineteen to Twenty Episodes 7-10 Review
The creators would have never expected that some of their dream date choices would go waste and one of them would throw an emotional bomb in the twenty house. These episodes made it more clear why Ji-woo is so popular among the male cast, even I have fallen for her charms, as a viewer. She has the power to play with other’s emotions and stir up some drama but her personality is quite direct and set on what she wants. It’s also understandable why she broke down at the end.
On the other hand, Ye-rin portrays that she is chill with everything but secretly hopes that someone will sweep her off her feet, especially Se-yeon. Although Jimin’s confrontation was a bit aggressive, her indecisiveness makes his behaviour look kinda right. It wouldn’t have helped him if he kept on tending her but she kept her hopes on someone else. Hee-ji and Pyeong-seok seem to be stuck in this emotional storm and not getting their own peaceful time, as they have to mediate and console others.
Nineteen to Twenty is currently streaming on Netflix. New episodes (11-13) will be released on August 1, 2023.
