See You in My 19th Life Episode 5 Recap and Review: Ji-eum Reveals Her Identity

See You in My 19th Life Episode 5

See You in My 19th Life Episode 5 shows that Seo-ha (Ahn Bo-hyun) hasn’t been able to let go of Ju-won and with Ji-eum (Shin Hye-sun) constantly reminding him of the past, he feels messed up and even his inability to hear seems to act up. After dropping him home, Seo-ha unconsciously grabs Ji-eum’s hand and mumbles to her not to leave him. To make sure he is okay, she stays back and sends Cho-won (Ha Yoon-kyung) home.

Seeing him like that reminds Cho-won of the past when she pushes Seo-ha away while crying and blames him for her sister’s death. She feels that it must have hurt him and he still lives with that guilt of surviving. Ji-eum also finds the same treasure box that she had given him on the day of the accident and ends up crying, thinking about it.

After going back, she gets a recurrent dream of her past life where an arrow lodges in her body. At the same time, we see a new character lurking outside the house on his bike. While Seo-ha takes a day off, Ju-won has a strange encounter with a girl, who calls her Ju-won and compliments that she grew up well. It’s not clear who she really is, presumably she also has the power to remember past lives and might be connected to Ju-won and Seo-ha. She is the same person who has been changing flowers at the hotel and has been visiting there regularly.

To make Seo-ha feel better, Do-yoon (Ahn Dong-goo) takes him out for a drive and even invites Cho-won and Ji-eum. Seeing Seo-ha in a good mood, Ji-eum confesses to him and tells him to answer her after giving it some thought. Since it starts raining heavily, Cho-won suggests that they should go to her family’s vacation house. There Seo-ha gathers up the courage to tell Cho-won how it has been hard for him to approach her since she reminds him of Ju-won so much.

Knowing how hard it has been on him, Cho-won understands his perspective as well. However, late at night, she finds Ji-eum going around the house and looking at the stuff that only a family member would know of. She even finds the hidden doll from the grandfather clock which surprises Cho-won the most, as it was hidden by Ju-won and she hasn’t been able to find it at all. When she confronts her about it, Ji-eum brushes it off by making excuses and goes after Seo-ha, who had gone out for a walk. After seeing how Cho-won was suspicious of her behaviour, Seo-ha also rejects her first confession.

Seo-ha also confronts Jang Yeon-ok about discrepancies in the hotel budget and hints at her stepping down from the position. When she furiously tries to hit him, Ji-eum comes in between and soon Seo-ha’s uncle takes Mrs Jang away.

More trouble comes seeking Seo-ha, when Dong-u tells the loan sharks to threaten his sister and her boyfriend to get money. Once she makes sure Seo-ha is fine, they go out to eat, as planned.

While having dinner, Ji-eum gets a call from Cho-won who asks her out to meet. Earlier she had a chat with Do-yoon regarding her and his thoughts about Ji-eum having some ulterior motive raises suspicion in her mind. See You in My 19th Life Episode 5 Review

Although Min-gi was not an antagonist in the See You in My 19th Life webtoon series, with so many changes in the drama adaptation, it seems like he could bring some more trouble. The casting of Cho-won for both the child actor and the adult version seems so apt and now that she knows the truth, hoping to see some heartwarming moments among the sisters.
