The story follows Kiel aka Fang, who once worked for the secret services, and is now a mercenary who was hired on behalf of a private military company. He is accompanied by his brother Piotr, on a mission to extract some photos taken by a girl named Eliza Mazur. The photos are evidence of what the local warlord, General Yousif is up to. However, during the mission, they realise that the General has his hands on a machine that can turn anyone into bloodthirsty zombies.

Even though they are able to secure the pictures, Piotr comes in contact with the machine’s blast radius and tries to kill his brother. In defence, Fang ends up killing his brother, thinking he’s a lost cause. After coming back, he realises that a Minister is behind the whole operation and he orders Fang to retrieve the deadly machine this time. Apparently, the machine was created to heal cancer patients but in the wrong hands, it turned into a weapon. Thus, he forms a team of his own and decides to get the machine that can help others and not turn like his brother.

While it’s a decent plot, the emotionless acting by its lead pulls it down. Even though the death of his brother is the leading cause for him to go on another mission, he doesn’t seem much affected by it. He is just bothered by the fact that he was the one to kill but shows no pain over losing a loved one. In fact, he seems much more remorseful when his teammates die in the mission, even if it was for a brief second.

Similarly, there’s no chemistry or connection between him and the girl he was seeking, Eliza. Yet they end up having a romantic moment at the worst time and for no absolute reason. Objectively, her character was quite insignificant to the story. Even if we remove her completely, the plot will still go on in the same manner.

If you are looking for some good action, then the film does its best in that regard and is the only positive aspect of it. There’s also an element of supernatural with a tattooed girl’s appearance in the start but it’s never explained or delved into much, apart from haunting the main lead. Overall, it’s a decent film if you are looking for a mindless watch with some action-packed sequences.

Rating: 2/5
