So Who Is She?
Erin Carter is shown to have been abandoned by her parents when she was a kid. She grew up to be a hot-tempered kid and rolled in the Police academy as an adult. However, her temper gets the best of her when she slams her senior on the lockers when he tries to disrespect her. He ends up breaking his nose and she gets expelled from the academy.
That’s when she meets DI Armstrong, who offers her the job of being an undercover agent for him and infiltrating a criminal gang. She then takes up the name of Kate Jones from the database, where Erin Carter is also one of the profiles. We never really got to know what her real name was.
Why is Erin Carter Running Away?
When she infiltrated the gang undercover, she met people like Margot, Lena, Thomas etc. and got close to them. Here it is revealed that Harper is actually Lena’s daughter and often spends her time in the gang’s hideout, where they even kill people sometimes. As Kate Jones, she builds a strong friendship with Lena, since the gang leader, Thomas, trusts her the most and shares everything.
They were planning a heist called Harwich Job, where they were going to steal gold bars. However, seeing how the security was tightened on the day of their planned heist, the leader decided to steal before planned as he suspected a mole in the gang. Fearing for her life, Kate asks the DI to get her out of the mission but he refuses and it makes her realise that she was just a dispensable pawn. Although they were successful in stealing, the police bust out their hiding spot and start firing on them.
Apparently, Lena gets shot and Kate thinks that she is dead. Thus, she takes Harper and runs away in the vehicle that the gang had prepared for their run. It also contained all the gold bars that they had stolen. She started a new life in Barcelona as it was Lena’s favourite place and where she had planned to restart after the heist. However, Kate had run away with the stolen gold bars making her a criminal on the run and also raising a child that wasn’t legally adopted by her.

Does Erin’s Identity Gets Exposed? What Happens to Harper?
At the supermarket, the armed robbers turn out to be the same gang members from the heist plan. Although she kills one, Margot recognises her and visits her school to make sure. Erin ends up killing her in rage and Emilio happens to witness it. He helps her out in hiding the body but also seeks her help in getting out of trouble from a gang, as he had gambling debts. However, not all plans go smoothly and Erin also becomes a target of the gang.
Meanwhile, her picture and heroic story get printed in the newspaper, making her paranoid that someone from the past might come looking for her. On one side, she keeps getting deep in trouble by trying to help Emilio and on the other hand, Lena turns out to be alive and in prison. Hearing about Margot’s death and then seeing Erin’s picture in the newspaper, she escapes from prison and comes looking for her in Spain.
By threatening Olivia, she gets to know about Erin’s whereabouts and asks her to take her Harper. Instead, she drives her to the place where she hid the gold bars and in exchange requests her to go away with it. But Lena shoots her in the side of her abdomen and leaves her in the middle of nowhere. She visits her home to see how Harper has been living but gets kidnapped by Daniel Lang’s men, who were also behind Emilio’s death.
When Lena meets Daniel, she remembers that he was the one who was bankrolling the Harwich heist and reveals that Erin was the mole that impacted all of their lives. They then make a deal to get Erin, while Lena would return the gold bars to him and leave with Harper. Miraculously, Erin survives and finds her way home to make sure her family is fine. She sends Harper and Jordie to a safe place and fights off Daniel’s men.
Lena goes out to take Harper, but Daniel doesn’t let her leave for safe keep until Erin is caught. It makes her think that Daniel wouldn’t let her go anywhere with her daughter and decides to help Erin instead. Lena brings Erin back but they had planned to take all of Daniel’s men out and save Jordie and Harper. While fighting, Lena ends up dying and Erin closely grazes Daniel with a bullet. He runs away with her family but she seeks them out and shoots him in the head.
Through this experience, Erin ends up revealing everything about her to Jordie and goes on a vacation with him and Harper. There, DI Armstrong pays her a visit but lets her go with an ambiguous warning. At last, she decides to live her life as Erin Carter only, instead of taking her original identity.
