Siren Survive the Island is the latest South Korean reality survival show produced by Studio Modak for Netflix. It is created by Lee Eun-kyung and is set on a remote island where 24 female contestants, versed in the highest levels of both combat and strategy, fiercely compete in six teams divided by profession.
Meet the Teams in Siren Survive the Island
Firefighter Team
The team consists of Leader Kim Hyeon-ah, Jung Min-seon, Lim Hyeon-ji and Kim Ji-hye. They were the third team to reach the Arena battle area with their flag poles and chose the square house as their base. In the first five episodes, they were able to save their flag in the first base battle and even won the special benefit in the Arena battle. They were given a fire kit and 30 mins of a special time when no team could attack their base in the second base battle. Using that to their advantage, they made an alliance with the Athlete’s team and took over Stunt’s team base.
Police Officers Team
The Police team consists of leader Kim Hye-ri, Kim Hae-young, Lee Seul and Seo Jeong-ha. They were the fifth team to reach the arena with the flag pole and chose the boathouse as their base. However, the base location didn’t work in their favour as they were spotted by almost every team and were the first ones to be eliminated. The soldiers and stunts team made an alliance and attacked their base when most of the members were out to attack other bases.
Bodyguards Team
The team consists of leader Lee Su-ryeon, Hwang Su-hyun, Lee Eun-jin and Lee Ji-hyun. They were the last ones to arrive at the arena and were left with the base option, shelter. It was one of the farthest base locations in the middle of the woods but worked in their favour as many teams didn’t wander around their area. Throughout the initial episodes, they tried to make alliances with soldiers & stunt teams but were not successful.

Soldiers Team
The team consists of leader Kim Bom-eun, Kang Eun-mi, Lee Hyun-seo and Kim Na-eun. They were the first team to cross the flat mud with the flag pole and had the advantage to choose the base of their choice. They chose the cabin which was nearby the amenities but not easily accessible to break into. They formed an alliance with the stunts team and were able to take over the Police team base and the flag. They are certainly the strongest contenders in the competition.
Athletes Team
The team consists of Leader Kim Hee-jeong, Kim Seong-yeon, Kim Min-sun and Kim Eun-byul. They were the fourth team to reach the arena and chose the cliff tent as their base. Due to their remote location, they were not the target of other teams in the first base battle. But in the second battle, they decided to attack Stunt’s team and with their alliance with the Firefighters team – they were able to get their hands on the flag. They formed a trusted relationship with them but the soldier’s team tried to create a wedge, to break the alliance.
Stunt Actors Team
The stunts team includes leader Kim Gyeong-ae, Ha Seul-gi, Jo Hye-gyeong, and Lee Seo-young. They were the second team to mount their flag in the arena and were able to choose the tree house as their base. They had the skills and tenacity to attack and defend but they were overpowered by the Firefighter’s and Athlete’s team in the second base battle. They were the second team to get eliminated from the competition.
Although two teams were eliminated, they were not sent home but stationed at a nearby ‘Island of defeat’ and prepared for an imminent consolation match. Among the eliminated teams, one team might get the chance to get back into the competition.
Siren: Survive the Island (Episodes 1-5) is currently streaming on Netflix and the next episodes will be released on June 6, 2023.
