After several coincidental encounters in the early episodes, which made them feel it must be fate, the two eventually chose each other in the Better Late Than Single Season 2 finale. Choi Hyun-seo and Choi Hyuk-joon connected instantly over shared interests, including wearing the same perfume. However, after appearing to love-bomb Hyun-seo in the initial days, Choi Hyuk-joon’s attitude took a turn when he realised that multiple contestants were interested in him.

Citing Hyun-seo’s lack of equal reciprocation as his reasoning, he decided to keep his options open and went on dates with Han Su-ji, Ahn Jeong-eun, and Lee Han-ju. Until episode 9, it seemed like he was more attracted to Su-ji, but he ultimately chose to stick with his initial connection, Hyun-seo.

Although Hyun-seo was ready to walk out of the show single after getting mixed signals from Hyuk-joon, she decided to give him a chance once he made an effort to connect with her one-on-one in the final two days. Whether their connection has lasted beyond the show remains to be seen.

Lee Jin-woo had been Lee Han-ju’s first choice from the day he entered the show as a catfish. But Jin-woo had his eye on Han Su-ji for most of the season before turning his attention to Ahn Jeong-eun. After making peace with his feelings and rejection, he came to appreciate how consistently Han-ju had been expressing her feelings and how she made him feel good about himself, something he personally struggles with.

After spending some time together playing games with others, Jin-woo noticed Han-ju was having a hard time and decided to talk to her. Their conversation made them think that it wouldn’t be a bad choice to explore their connection. With only two days left, and Han-ju having nearly given up on him, she decided to give it another chance, and the two went on private dates when the opportunity arose.

While Han-ju didn’t expect him to choose her in the end, she nearly burst into tears when she saw him walk up to her. Jin-woo had also been rejected by Jeong-eun over their age gap, but he didn’t let it derail his connection with Han-ju, as their dynamics were also similar, with Han-ju being a traditional medicine doctor and Jin-woo still pursuing studies.

Who was Rejected on Better Late Than Single Season 2, and Who Walked Away by Choice?

Despite Ahn Seung-hyun and Kim Soo-hyun hitting it off towards the end, Soo-hyun still chose Kim Tae-hoon as her final choice. She wanted to follow her heart, even though Tae-hoon had been visibly trying to reject her in a roundabout way in the last few days. Initially, he was attracted to her but felt that Soo-hyun was moving too fast and tried to distance himself in a cold manner, which was criticised by the hosts as rude behaviour.

When Soo-hyun was feeling down by Tae-hoon’s changed behavior, Seung-hyun reached out to her and confessed his feelings. However, Soo-hyun wanted to see things through with Tae-hoon, and thus both of them were left waiting alone in the cold for their choices to walk in.

Meanwhile, Han Su-ji, Kim Jae-seo, Jeon Seo-yeon, Yoon Jung-yun, Ahn Jeong-eun, and Kim Tae-hoon let go of their final choice and walked out of the show alone. It makes sense since most of them were either rejected by the person they liked or never formed a strong enough connection with anyone to choose them.
